What is it?


Coming up with your own training plan can be an overwhelming experience. It can be very hard to know where to start and what to do. This is especially true when there is so much information out there which can be conflicting and confusing. Maybe you are ready to take your training a bit more seriously but don’t feel like you are quite ready for a coach. You are exactly who the Training Squad is for.

Squad members receive weekly a training plan and a private Facebook training group. Consider the squad a training HUB where you can get yourself on the right track without the price tag or commitment of 1 to 1 coaching.

Each week you will have access to a set of sessions which you can follow. These sessions will be structured with a weekly pattern so you know when your hard and easy sessions will be allowing you to work them around your schedule. You can then simply move and adjust as it suits you.

In addition, you will have access to the Hamilton Sport Facebook group, a community of like minded athletes on a triathlon journey. The Facebook group will have helpful videos, tips and blogs about various triathlon topics from setting up a turbo up to selecting the right running shoes and lots more.

Whether it is budget or time that prevents you from accessing fully coached services this option acts as a perfect in between package. Now you can be structure with your training without the stress of having to complete every session or answer to a coach.

As the sessions are based off of the same philosophy as all of my training plans you can rest assured they will be effective and productive. You also have the added benefit of being able to touch base for advice whenever you might need it.

How are the programmes delivered?

Programmes are delivered via Trainingpeaks software. Sessions will be available a week in advance. All you need to do is connect your Garmin etc. so that your sessions upload automatically. Any session feedback will be left in the session comments.

How do you track the sessions?

You will need a reliable Heart rate monitor to record the effort of your sessions. Once this paired to your watch or bike computer your sessions can be tracked and uploaded to Trainingpeaks.

How will I get my Training Zones?

Every two months you will complete basic benchmark tests which will allow for your training zones to be calculated and sent to you via email.

Do I need Zwift or another training software?

No, although Zwift or Trainneroad do make much easier as most sessions can be easily exported and used with your turbo trainer.

How long can I sign up for?

The minimum sign up is 3 months, this ensures you get adequate variety and progression to allow you to make progress. You can renew your membership at anytime.

How do I pay?

All payments are through transfer. Payment details will be provided upon registration.
